I purchased this product because my Wii Internal fan had ceased to function and the Wii would automatically shut off after about an hour of play in this state. With this fan that is never again a problem and I can leave the Wii on for as long as I want. It's pretty funny that half these reviews say the fan is loud and half say it's quiet: to perhaps settle the issue I'll say it's not EXTREMELY loud like a buzzing prop plane to the point that you are going to hear it above your video game music, but it is considerably louder than the standard Wii fan and will produce a notable ambient hum that will punch through especially on parts of hte game with no sound.
